Engine malfunctions

For a general check of the ignition system, it is necessary to unscrew the candles, put on their tips and apply them one by one to the engine body, giving the command to the assistant to turn on the starter.

Attention! To avoid electric shock, do not hold the spark plug by the wire or tip. Use pliers with well-insulated handles for this.

Attention! On vehicles with a catalyst to prevent fuel injection, disconnect the connector from the corresponding injector for the duration of the test.

If there is no spark, you should look for a malfunction in the ignition or injection system (see chapter "Ignition system" or "fuel injection system"). Observe safety measures when working with electronic ignition systems.

For diesel engines: check the function of the glow plugs and the fuel system.
