Examination
Disconnect the connector from the sensor.
Connect an ohmmeter to pin 2 and "mass". The device should show approximately 0 ohms.
Turn the throttle valve to the middle position. The switch should click and the resistance should increase to "infinity".
Connect an ohmmeter to pin 3 and "mass". Turn the throttle valve to the end position. The resistance should be 0 ohm.
Adjustment
Loosen the sensor fixing screws (see arrows in fig.B6596), without opening them completely.
Slowly turn the sensor counterclockwise until it stops. Fix the sensor in this position (see fig.).
When opening the throttle, a click should be heard, and the electrical resistance should increase from 0 to "infinity".
When the throttle is released, the resistance should drop back to 0 with an audible click of the switch.
Replacement
Disconnect the connector from the sensor.
Loosen the screws and remove the sensor from the throttle shaft.
Install a new sensor, adjust and secure it.
Connect connector.
