Removing
1. Remove the instrument panel.
2. Remove the front doors.
3. Remove the bolts securing the outer ends of the control beam to the A-pillars. Then remove the two top rails and unscrew the left-hand threaded bolts from the ends of the beam.
4. Remove the lower air distributor.
5. On models with an air conditioning system, remove the cooler. The cooler must be removed by a specialist using special equipment.
6. On models with air conditioning in the engine compartment, disconnect the hoses from the evaporator and remove the drain seal.
7. Working in the engine compartment, pinch the hoses supplying coolant to the heater core.
8. Disconnect the hoses from the heater radiator fitting by pressing the branch pipe and moving the blocking ring.
9. Unscrew the three bolts securing the heater casing to the bulkhead of the engine compartment. The bolts are accessible from the engine compartment.
10. Remove the pollen filter cover. To do this, remove the wiper motor and disconnect the vacuum hoses from the casing. On models with 2.0L diesel engines, the outside air temperature sensor must also be removed.
11. On models with electronic air temperature control, disconnect the wiring harness connector for powering the servo and fan motors.
12. Remove the heater cover from the vehicle interior.
Installation
Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
