Removing
1. In the engine compartment, pinch the coolant supply hoses to the heater core.
2. On 2.0L diesel engines, disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump.
3. For better access on 2.0L diesel engines, remove the fuel filter.
4. Disconnect the coolant supply hoses from the heater radiator fittings by pressing on the pipe and moving the blocking ring.
5. Close the hose fittings (the locations of the plugs are indicated by arrows).
6. Remove the center console.
7. Remove the bracket supporting the lower center of the instrument panel (indicated by an arrow).
8. Remove the lower part of the air supply pipe to the lower part of the passenger compartment.
9. Unscrew the screw securing the air supply pipe.
10. Remove the air supply pipe.
11. Remove the air duct hanger.
12. Using a screwdriver, release the brackets securing the radiator cap. On models with air conditioning, the cover is bolted.
13. Remove the heater core cover.
14. Remove the heater core from the casing. On models with air conditioning, before removing the heater core, move it to the right.
Installation
Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. If the heater core cover brackets are broken, drill four holes in the cover and secure with self-tapping screws. Before installing the cover, firmly press the heater core into the casing. Add coolant to the cooling system.
