Oil pan — removal and installation

Removing

1. Remove the ground wire from the battery.

2. Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands.

3. Drain the engine oil from the engine. Install a new washer on the oil drain plug and screw the plug into the oil pan.



4. Unscrew bolts and remove the bottom part of the oil pallet.

5. To remove the main part of the oil pan, remove the front exhaust pipe.

6. Unscrew the bolts and remove the lower flywheel protective plate.

7. Gradually unscrew the bolts securing the main part of the oil pan to the pump cover and engine block. Remove the main part of the oil pan from under the car.



8. Unscrew bolts and remove an oil receiving pipe with the mesh filter.

Installation

1. Clean all traces of dirt and oil from the mating surfaces of the oil pan and cylinder block.




2. Install a new O-ring to the oil pickup tube and install the oil pickup tube to the engine.



3. Check that the mating surfaces of the main oil pan block and cylinder block are clean and dry, and apply a thin coat of sealant to the top of the main oil pan.

4. Install the oil pan main block to the cylinder block and secure with bolts. Tighten the bolts from the center in a diagonal sequence.

5. Install the flywheel skid plate.

6. Install the front exhaust pipe.

7. Check that the mating surfaces of the oil pan and lower oil pan are clean and dry. Apply a thin coat of sealant to the mating surface of the lower oil pan. Install the lower oil pan and secure with bolts.

8. Lower the car and fill the engine with engine oil.
