Removing
1. Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands. Remove the front wheels and engine mudguard.
2. Drain the engine oil from the gearbox.
3. Remove the battery, battery support and starter.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the reversing light switch and release the switch wiring from the mounting brackets.
5. Using a clamp, pinch the hose connecting the supply tank and the clutch master cylinder.
6. Loosen the clamp securing the clutch hydraulic hose to the gearbox housing (indicated by the arrow in the photo on the left). Disconnect the clutch hydraulic hose from the top of the transmission case (photo on the right).
7. Disconnect the shift rod from the top of the transmission.
8. Remove the front suspension lower frame. While doing this, support the engine.
9. Remove the inner driveshaft joints from the gearbox and, using a soft wire, hang them from the car body. unscrew the bolts (indicated by arrows) and separate the left power unit support from the front of the transmission case.
10. On engines with a stamped steel pan, unscrew the bolts securing the flywheel protective plate and remove it.
11. Place a jack under the gearbox and raise it just enough so that the weight of the gearbox is supported by the jack. Unscrew bolts of fastening of a case of a transmission to the engine.
12. Move the jack together with the gearbox to the right, remove the gearbox from the guide pins, lower it down and remove it from under the car.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following points:
- check that the guide pins are in place;
- tighten all bolts to the required torque;
- replace the sealing rings of the drive shafts;
- install the front suspension lower frame;
- pour oil into the gearbox;
- adjust the gearshift mechanism.
