Removing the fog lamp
Raise the vehicle.
Unlock and disconnect the wire connector at the rear of the fog lamp housing.
Remove the bumper, see body section.
If only one fog lamp is to be removed, it may be sufficient to loosen the bumper at the bottom and on the relevant side. To do this, move the end of the bumper slightly away from the body.
Unscrew the three mounting bolts and remove the fog lamp from the rear of the bumper.
Install a new fog lamp.
Mount the bumper.
Then check the installation of the fog lamp.
Left: replacement of the left fog lamp bulb. The numbers indicate:
1 - multi-pin connector;
2 - protective cap;
3 - incandescent lamp;
4 - spring wire bracket;
5 - wire connector.
On right:after removing the front bumper, you can unscrew the fog lamp from the back of the bumper.
Left: Factory-fitted fog lights are only vertically adjustable. The photo shows the height adjustment bolt (arrow) left fog lamp behind the bumper.
On right:the main headlight adjusting bolts are accessible from above or from the side of the engine compartment. The left arrow shows the side mounting screw, the right arrow shows the height mounting.
Tip: Low-mounted fog lights are relatively susceptible to rock impacts. Damage to the headlight glass reduces light output. Therefore, it may make sense, when there is no fog, to cover the windows with suitable hoods.
