Battery specifications
Voltage and capacity: in the designation 12 V / 44 Ah, the 12 V in front informs, of course, of the battery voltage. After the oblique line, the current strength is indicated in «temporarily supplied quantity» Ah stands for ampere-hours. This is the nominal capacity of the battery, which is measured according to the terms of the standard. Although in practice they count only on ⅔ of the indicated capacity; in old batteries - by half.
Test current at low temperatures: The number 210 A or 255 A indicates the current that the battery can provide at -18°C.
Type number: All German battery manufacturers use a five-digit number to identify batteries. In Vectra, the corresponding numerical characteristics are: 54,434, or 55,530. The first digit (5) means the battery voltage is 12 V. The following numbers inform about the battery capacity. The last two digits indicate design features, such as its shape, pole position, degassing hose and fixing bar at the base.
