Unscrew the battery caps.
Suck out enough acid to allow the hydrometer spindle to float freely.
Look at the specific gravity of the acid: 1.28 kg / l - the battery is fully charged; 1.20 kg / l - half charged; 1.12 kg / l - discharged.
Tip: With a uniformly low acid density, it is enough to charge the battery. If a separate cell is discharged, then the battery is presumably defective - have it checked at an automotive electrical equipment repair shop.
