Malfunctions and self-diagnosis

The Multec central injection control unit has a program memory. The memory device is able to recognize and store defects that occur during engine operation. The control light on the dashboard signals the driver about a malfunction. Fault information is stored for 20 engine starts. If the defect does not reappear during this time, for example, due to a rocking contact, then information about it is erased.

The workshop has a reader for the Multec injection system, which is connected to the socket under the center console. In this way, system malfunctions can be read.
