Removing the throttle cable
The throttle cable connects the accelerator pedal and the injection throttle. Its biggest drawback is that it is very sensitive to bending, so you need to pay special attention to this during installation.
- Pull out the plastic throttle cable nipple at the upper end of the gas pedal and remove the cable upwards.
- Open the hood. Remove the plastic outlet behind the brake booster on the front wall and fully extend the throttle cable.
- To do this, if necessary, drain the coolant into the container. Remove the coolant expansion tank from the front wall and set aside.
- Press the clip on the ball head of the front end of the throttle cable and remove.
- Depress the throttle cable from the gas supply rod system and remove it from the counter support
- Lightly lubricate the ball head of the cable during installation.
At the bottom of the intake manifold next to the generator is a coolant temperature sensor (arrow). It transmits information about the temperature of the coolant at the moment to the control unit in order to prepare the optimal composition of the air-fuel mixture.

Throttle cable adjustment
The throttle cable must always be installed without tension, i.e. with some allowance.
- Have your assistant fully depress the gas pedal.
- Pull out the bracket on the mounting bracket.
- Bring the throttle to full throttle position by pulling on the cable sheath.
- Insert the locking clip into the appropriate notch into the groove segment on the end of the throttle cable sheath.
- Check: in the idle position, the throttle cable must have an allowance. With the gas pedal fully depressed, the injection system should be in full throttle position.
- If the accelerator pedal travel is insufficient, it must be adjusted accordingly using the screw at the top of the accelerator pedal.
