Door opening limiter — replacement

The door opening limiter must be replaced if the door no longer locks in the open position. To increase the life of the stops and ensure that the doors open and close easily and quietly, periodically lubricate the stops (see «Lubrication of hinges and locks»).

Comment. The operation is similar for the front and rear doors.

Execution sequence

1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).

2. Remove the door trim (see «Door upholstery model Astra - removal and installation» or «Upholstery of doors of the Zafira model - removal and installation»).

3. Remove the plastic film (see «Switch (larva) front door lock replacement»).

4. Using the TORX T40 key, unscrew the bolt securing the limiter to the body pillar.



5. Using the TORX T30 key, unscrew the two bolts securing the limiter to the door.



6. We remove the limiter through the technological opening of the door.

7. Install the limiter in the reverse order.

Recommendation. Lubricate the limiter with lithium grease and apply threadlocker to the screws securing the limiter.
