Door lock — replacement and adjustment

If there is a central control for locking the door locks (central locking) the lock of the left front door is made as a single unit with the motor-reducer of its lock and the central lock switch. The locks of the remaining doors are made as a single unit with a motor-reducer for their locking.

Comment. The operation is basically the same for adjusting all doors on all modifications (differences are indicated in the text).

Replacement

1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).

2. Raise the door glass to the top position.

3. Remove the door trim (see «Door upholstery model Astra - removal and installation» or «Upholstery of doors of the Zafira model - removal and installation») and peel off the plastic film from the back of the door.

4. We pry off the clamp of the wiring harness block...



...and disconnect the block from the lock.



5. To remove the lock of the left front door, remove the inside of the handle (see «Switch (larva) front door lock replacement»).


6. To remove the rear door lock with a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screw securing the cover of the lock button pull rod...



...and remove the thrust from the lever of the lock button.



7. Using the TORX T40 key, we unscrew the three bolts securing the lock.



8. We lower the lock a little down, disengaging it from the outer handle rod, and remove it complete with rods through the technological hole in the door.




9. We sink the retainer of the cable sheath holder of the inner door opening handle.



10. Disconnect the cable sheath holder from the lock body.



11. We remove the cable end of the inner handle from the lock lever.



12. We sink the latch of the cable sheath holder of the lock button.




13. Disconnect the cable sheath holder from the lock body.



14. We remove the tip of the button cable from the lock lever.



15. We install the parts in the reverse order.

Comment. When installing the lock, pay attention to the fact that the rod of the outer door opening handle fits exactly into the opening of the lock drive.

Lubricate the lock mechanism with lithium grease and apply threadlocker to the lock screws.

Adjustment

1. We mark the position of the door lock latch so that we can return to the original installation.



2. Using the TORX T40 key, loosen the two bolts securing the door lock retainer; slightly moving the latch to the right and left and up and down, we achieve easy and tight closing of the door.
